As a 10 year veteran of the internet industry, and small business owner just when I thought I had it all figured out, it would all suddenly change, and that is what I love about my industry. The internet is constantly evolving and that thrills me because it means I’m never done learning.
In my career I’ve had three primary roles, account executive, developer, and consultant. As an account executive, my primary duties are interfacing with client and managing the project. To say I’m comfortable speaking with clients would be an understatement and I think I’ve been successful in closing sales. As a project manager, I’m proud of my ability to speak to a designer as fluently as I can speak to a programmer. As an art director, I provide valuable feedback and creative direction to designers to ensure client satisfaction
As a developer, I’ve built well over 110 web sites, over one third of which have been eCommerce. In the last year I’ve built over 10 custom WordPress themes – pushing the boundaries of WordPress with every new site. My latest project is a unique blend of .NET and PHP – a hybrid of two unique systems meshed together so seamlessly the user experience will never be interrupted.
As a consultant, I understand the technologies and strategies behind promoting a web site. From search engine optimization, email marketing or even old fashion offline marketing, my clients have relied on my consulting to promote their web sites and have seen improved sales. As we move in to 2010 I find myself immersed in the world of “social media” and I now consult on how to use Twitter, Facebook and the ever growing importance of video on the web. Sometimes they even make me write copy. By combining all three of these skills, I can take a project from the first sales call to wire frames all the way through launch and marketing.
